My dad is a car guy, my mother isn't. But whenever they see me fidgeting with my phone in my jacket pocket, they wonder what I'm doing or they know I know it's disrespectful to use the phone when I'm spending time with them. I tell my parents it's because I run a ROM on my Note 2 and it occasionally on certain days decides to drain its battery for no reason and refuse to charge and it's preceded by the entire phone heating up. And I love my ROM because it runs a tablet OS on my huge phone and it's faaaaabulous.
My dad told me to uninstall it if it's always causing problems and I told him that I look past my ROM's blemishes because like a German car or an Alfa, it's amazing when it's working.

Funny I too used a car analogy here before as well to describe smartphones. Someone on here was complaining in multiple posts about their Android phone repair issues and how all these random phone repair stores were giving him the run around causing him to send his phone to the manufacturer and wait like 2 weeks to get it back.
I told him get an iPhone so he can get his phone replaced in about 20 minutes at an Apple store, it's like getting a Benz/BMW with the great dealer service and none of the shitty reliability.
